Maersk Line named best container shipping line of 2007

The Container shipping arm of the AP Moller Maersk Group, Maersk Line, has won the "Container Shipping Line of the Year" prize at the Lloyd's List Asia Awards 2007. In addition, Maersk Line was also among the finalists of the "the Clean Seas Award."

This marks the ninth year in a row that the shipping and logistics industries have honoured Maersk Line with the "Container Shipping Line of the Year" award.

"We appreciate the support from our customers and their confidence shown in our services," said Tim Smith, chief commercial officer of the AP Moller - Maersk Group in the Greater China Area at the Hong Kong awards ceremony."We are also proud to be the finalist of the The Clean Seas Award. We are committed to the protection and conservation of the environment and place high priority on environmental considerations in managing our business."

Furthermore, the group's logistics company, Maersk Logistics, was among the finalists of this year's "The Logistics Award."

Maersk Line's fleet comprises more than 500 container vessels and over 1,400,000 containers. The shipping line is engaged in providing container transportation services around the world, and is represented in 44 locations in the greater China area.
