Agility acquires sea forwarder, long-time Guangzhou business partner
POSTED: 8:41 a.m. EDT, May 17,2007
Agility, the recent re-branded name of Singapore's Trans-Link Group of logistics companies, has acquired its business partner of six years, Guangzhou Runtong International Transportation Company Limited (GRITCL), a leading ocean freight forwarder in Guangdong province.

Guangzhou Runtong International employs 138 across six provinces and has branch offices in Guangxi, Sichuan, Fujian, Yunnan and Chongqing. When the acquisition is complete, Agility will have 14 offices in China, and operations will be directed from Guangzhou.

"By integrating Guangzhou Runtong International into our global network, we have extended our reach into the region and enhanced our service offering." said Wolfgang Hollermann, Agility's Asia Pacific CEO. "We plan to invest in the expansion of GRITCL and its range of services to include airfreight and logistics in south China."

David Li, GRITCL's principal and soon to be Agility's general manager for sea freight in south China, said: "We are very pleased to be joining Agility as our customers will be able to benefit from an expanded range of services and can leverage the strengths of our global network."
