Maersk-best global shipping line in the 14th year
POSTED: 9:20 a.m. EDT, April 28,2007

Maersk Line has clinched several accolades at the recent 21st Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards (AFSCAs) held in Macau, including being named the Best Global Shipping Line.

Maersk also captured the Best Shipping Line Asia-Europe and Best Shipping Line Transpacific awards at the annual event held by Cargonews Asia. Readers throughout Asia and across the industry voted for the award winners.

Maersk Line has been awarded the Best Global Shipping Line for 14 consecutive years and the Asia Europe trade accolade for the past 18 years in a row. The Transpacific trade award has been won by Maersk Line 15 times in the past 17 years.

In early April, Maersk Line's flagship Emma Maersk won the title Ship of the Year at the Lloyd's List Awards 2007, for setting new standards in innovation, environmental performance and safety.

"We appreciate the support of our customers and the confidence shown in our services as demonstrated by the vote for Maersk Line," said Tim Smith, chief commercial officer of AP Moller-Maersk Group in the Greater China Area.

"We are committed to understanding our customers and their business, and to developing high quality, reliable tailor-made services to meet their requirements," he said.
