GAC teams up with Tyco to offer global fire, rescue and safety services
POSTED: 8:50 a.m. EDT, April 12,2007

GAC has started offering full-warranty fire, rescue and safety (FRS) services and systems which are designed to meet the maritime industry's needs worldwide.

Offered under the GAC Solutions umbrella, FRS combines the group's ship agency, logistics and offshore activities and infrastructure with its service partner network, in a bid to deliver a solution directly to any vessels including newbuildings and conversions.

"This is an extremely timely innovation, as compliance to health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) standards is now a major focus for the maritime industry," said vice president Christer Sjodoff.

A statement from the company said that a key element of the FRS service involves a strategic alliance with international electronic fire and security solutions provider, Tyco Fire & Security. The strategic alliance leverages GAC's commercial skills and one-stop billing solutions, which combined with Tyco Fire & Security's technical expertise will enable GAC to offer a full range of Tyco systems.

Tyco Fire & Security is a provider of safety gear for the marine industry, serving customers in over 100 countries and used by 80 per cent of the world's ships.
