FCLCARRIER has announced the launch of a new service to move containers, breakbulk, hazardous and project cargo between the United States, Canada and Afghanistan.
The service calls at major ports on both the US east and west coasts and Canada with service to Afghanistan via transshipment through Karachi.
All freight is shipped under an FCLcarrier bill of lading and cargo is handled on a port-to-port basis or trucked to inland destinations including Kabul, Jalajbad, Bagram and Kandahar.
"We have a long history of servicing niche locations and we saw a strong demand in the market for service to Afghanistan, especially by aid and relief organisations," said FCLcarrier CEO Anton Plompen.
FCLcarrier, backed by low cost, independent pricing strategies, offers "shippers and freight forwarders many advantages ranging from our low rates to supplying all modes of transportation on a single `through' bill of lading", he said.
FCLcarrier's services are supported by three agency partnerships in the US and Canada: Waves Logistics Corporation, Carolina Shipping and Seabridge Shipping. In the Middle East, the company is represented by Messrs Barwil Shipping, part of Norway's Wilh.Wilhelmsen Group.
