Swiss logistics giant Kuehne + Nagel in Thailand has landed a three-year contract from Black & Decker (Thailand) Ltd.
Under the deal, Kuehne + Nagel will receive inbound shipments, as well as provide warehousing and national distribution services on top of other value-added services, including spare-part management, a company statement said.
"Kuehne + Nagel has the flexibility and resources necessary for accommodating our complex logistics requirements. Black & Decker has gained a valuable partner in enhancing its supply chain and competitive edge in the highly dynamic marketplace in Thailand," said Suebpong Panpruet, vice president of Sales Asia at Black & Decker (Thailand).
To meet Black & Decker's logistics requirements, and continue fulfilling expansion plans for the region, Kuehne + Nagel has opened a new warehousing facility in Bangkok.
"We are delighted to be recognised as the preferred logistics provider for Black & Decker. The new site marks a step in the expansion of our logistics network in Thailand, enhancing our ability to provide efficient logistics services from a single source," said Jens Drewes, managing director of Kuehne + Nagel.
The new shared facility, with an available warehousing space of 4,200 square metres, is located close to Bangkok's seaport and international airport and features a high-speed link with Laem Chabang, Thailand's biggest port located on the country's eastern seaboard.
Kuehne + Nagel has been operating in the Thai market since 1966. With more than 200 employees at four locations, the company has a strong market position and ranks among the leading logistics providers in Thailand.
