MISC in Large Tanker Order
POSTED: 9:46 a.m. EDT, November 3,2006
Malaysian owner MISC Berhad has signed an order for four aframax units at Japan's Tsuneishi Corp, reports Tradewinds.

The order for the four 107,500-dwt units has a price tag of $260m, the Kuala Lumpur-listed company said in a stock exchange announcement on Tuesday.

Delivery of the first unit is slated for 2009 with the remaining three ships set to join the fleet the following year.

MISC made no mention of any options at the Japanese yard in its announcement. The orders were placed through its subsidiary AET Inc Ltd.

The company also announced that it has taken delivery of the eight in a series of VLCC it had on order at Japan's Universal Shipbuilding. The 300,400-dwt unit set MISC back $65m.
