Container line members of the G6 Alliance today announced additional void sailings within their Asia-Europe joint product in response to changes in market demand, with multiple cancellations of their jointly operated Asia-Europe 'Loop 4', 'Loop 6', and 'Loop 7' services, noting that further cancellations may follow.
The alliance's members, APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, MOL, NYK, and OOCL, said that as the G6 Alliance continued to review its product profile, the following void sailings were planned for the coming services and weeks:
Loop 6 service in week 44, 48, and 52, which had planned westbound ETAs in Fuzhou of 29 October, 26 November and 24 December 2015. The alliance said Kaohsiung would be added as a westbound call while Jebel Ali will be inserted on the eastbound leg of Loop 7, while the westbound Colombo and Xiamen calls will be added into Loop 4.
The alliance's Loop 7 service would be voided in week 45 and 49, which was due to call westbound in Qingdao of 2 November and 30 November 2015. Qingdao will be added to Loop 4 on the westbound leg in the corresponding week, while Gdansk, Gothenburg and Antwerp calls being covered by Loop 5 on the eastbound direction during the same timeframe.
The alliance's Loop 4 service would be voided in week 46 and 50, which was due to call westbound in Ningbo on 13 November and 11 December 2015. It said the westbound Le Havre call will be covered by Loop 6 in the respective week.
