Despite the huge investment by the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, in the Nigeria Trade Hub Centre located at the International Centre for Commerce, ICC, Lagos International Trade Fair Complex, the place has largely not been used after its launching last December.
Located at the main gates of the BBA Market, it was learnt that the Centre was facilitated by the Customs Consultative Committee, CCC, and supported by the Customs management, which funded the refurbishment of the building housing same into a state-of-the-art facility.
It was commissioned on December 3, 2013, by Comptroller-General of Customs, Alhaji Dikko Abdullahi during a town hall meeting to flag off of the Pre-Arrival Assessment Report, PAAR, scheme.
The CCC comprises the Customs, Customs agents, importers, and the media.
The core objectives of the CCC include promoting good relations between the Customs and the trading public to facilitate best practices and trade.
The Centre, it was learnt, is the first in the series of such facilities planned for major trading centres across the country.
