The trade mission is focused on the extractive (mining, oil and gas) and energy (power, renewables) sectors, identified as priority sectors under Canada's Global Markets Action Plan (GMAP). Trade mission delegates, including some representing small and medium-sized companies, will have the opportunity to hear from sector experts and meet with key local stakeholders.
During his 10-day, four-country trip to Africa, Minister Fast will meet with key business and government leaders to advocate for stronger trade with Canada, leading to jobs, growth and prosperity both abroad and at home. The minister is visiting Burkina Faso from June 18 to 19, Madagascar from June 20 to 21, South Africa from June 22 to 25 and Tanzania from June 25 to 27, all of which are GMAP priority countries.
