Federal international trade minister Ed Fast spread his Conservative government's expanding trade message at a major grains conference in Winnipeg this morning.
At the Canadian Global Crops Symposium Fast touted his government's aggressive efforts to complete bi-lateral trade agreements including recently completed deals with Europe and South Korea.
He announced a $100,000 federal government investment in the Canadian Grains Council specifically to help the council in its international trade advocacy work.
The CGC, one of the organizers of the conference, coordinates efforts to market Canadian grains domestically and around the world.
