Malaysia is confident that its investment and trade ties with China is still solid despite the dissatisfaction expressed by its people over the Malaysia Airlines MH370 tragedy.
International Trade and Industry Minister (MITI) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said the Chinese government understood the difficult situation being experienced by Malaysia in the arduous task of searching for the plane which went missing on March 8.
"The Chinese government understands this challenge and they're grateful for everything we are doing to find the plane," he told reporters after a dinner at the Umno Jeli division with Malacca chief minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron at Seri Bendahara here yesterday.
He said so far MITI has not seen any signs of deterioration in investment and trade activities involving China.
Flight MH370, carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew, left the KL International Airport at 12.41am on March 8 and disappeared from radar screens about an hour later. It was to have landed in Beijing at 6.30am the same day.
