The city of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County are hoping local companies sign up for a new trade mission to Brazil.
The trade mission, scheduled for March 15 to 23, is being organized with the New Mexico Aviation Association, New Mexico Professional Aerospace Contractors Association and the state Office of International Trade. The trade mission will include stops in both São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro and will focus primarily on the aviation, aerospace and construction sectors. Any New Mexico company is eligible to participate and will be provided with custom business-to-business matchmaking with Brazilian companies.
"Brazil is Latin America's largest economy and an ideal market for companies in the aviation, aerospace, construction and renewable energy sectors," said Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry. "This trade mission is an excellent opportunity for companies of any size or level of export experience."
New Mexico companies that participate in the trade alliance will get discounted lodging rates, language assistance and prequalified business meetings arranged on their behalf based on their interests in the Brazilian market.
"We formed the Trade Alliance to create international business opportunities for local companies because we know that entering a foreign market can be an extremely daunting and expensive endeavor," said Bernalillo County Economic Development Director Mayling Armijo. "This trade mission alone will save each participating company over $2,500 when compared to what it would cost them to do it on their own."
