He stated this in a meeting with President, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Dr. Shimail Daud Arain here on Sunday.
He said that skilled manpower play a pivotal role in national economic uplift and Punjab government is striving hard to generate highly skilled manpower by establishing vocational training institutes and ready to take Chamber on board to get maximum results in this regard.
Former President Sohail Altaf, Senior vice President Malik Shahid Saleem, Vice President Muhammad Alam Chughtai, members Executive Committee and other members of the Chamber were also present on the occasion.
Raja Ashfaq Sarwar lauded the role of RCCI in promotion of business and trade related activities and said that the genuine problems of business community would be addressed accordingly.
He said that issues relating to social security will be discussed jointly at local level by the representatives of Chamber & Social Security officials and viable recommendations be forwarded for taking decisions at provincial level. He also said that a number of amendments in Labour laws had already been suggested which will address the grievances of trade and commerce community.
Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that government is fully aware about the problems of traders and business entrepreneurs and efforts were being made for industrial development in the country.
He also talked about the ongoing consultation process and dialogues with Chamber of Commerce in the Province to promote private public partnership for economic betterment and national development.
The Minister for Labour and Manpower said that International Labour Convention is scheduled to be held on April, 2014 and it will be a unique opportunity for manufacturers and services sector to explore skilled and unskilled labour overseas employments.
Referring to the GST plus status of Pakistan, the Labour Minister said that, Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has focused on promotion of trade and commerce and under his directives various new initiatives had been taken to increase exports of Pakistani products.
While speaking on the occasion President RCCI Dr. Shimail Daud Arain has said that RCCI is playing vital role in strengthening national exchequer.
He said that Rawalpindi Chamber is introducing local products in international trade markets through single country expos with special focused on SAARC region. He said there are vast opportunities of business in different countries and we can capture these opportunities by making value additions of our products.
He also pointed out human resource development according to the demands in various sectors. Mr. Sohail Iltaf and other Senior Executives of RCCI also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the contributions of Provincial Government in infrastructure development and expanding business opportunities.
The Director General Labour in a presentation briefed about the salient features of International Labour Convention and said that RCCI would take active part in the deliberations of Convention. He also assured necessary actions for redressal of the difficulties of business community.
