What are the new challenges facing Europe’s fruit growing and agricultural industry, such as changing consumer behaviour, and what product innovations is the industry using to brace for the future? These are central questions that will be the focus of the international trade fair Fruchtwelt Bodensee in Friedrichshafen from February 21 to 23, 2014. Through the parallel event "agrarwelt," the exhibition grounds will be the centre of attraction for farmers from throughout the agricultural sector. The signs for a successful new edition of the trade fair duo are good - the organizers are expecting more than 330 exhibitors and strong international participation, and are looking forward to the visit of the Baden-Wurttemberg Minister of Rural Affairs and Consumer Protection Alexander Bonde on opening day.
"We already passed the hurdle of 300 exhibitors at the turn of the year and are confident that we will reach the numbers of the last event again with 335 exhibitors and 16,700 trade visitors from all over Europe," explains project manager Petra Rathgeber. The commitment of new exhibitors at Lake Constance is also great: For the Fruchtwelt Bodensee, exhibitors making their debut include the Hungarian manufacturer of fruit processing machinery and distillation equipment "Maurer," the irrigation specialists of "Irritec" and spraying equipment manufacturer "Tifone" (both from Italy), and, with "Zill" from Lauingen, also one of the leading suppliers of synthetic fabrics and films. Trade fair premiers as "agrarwelt" exhibitors are being celebrated by "Agromehanica," the Slovenian manufacturer of tractors and agricultural machines, power system manufacturer "Heizomot," and the experts for control technology from "Tell," for example.
In 2014, the trade fairs will cover an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters with four exhibition halls (B1 to B4), along with the two foyers and conference centers (East and West). With the topics of fruit cultivation, plant protection, distilleries, harvesting machines, nurseries, energy, forestry, technology, culture, and direct marketing, events are geared specifically toward fruit growers, farmers, and distillers from all over Europe.
What is happening on the markets is classic terrain of the presentations at the Fruchtwelt Bodensee. The organizers again managed to attract reputable international experts to Friedrichshafen. Chris White will be attending. In London, he is the Director of Market Intelligence, a publishing company for markets and marketing magazines which has also made a name for itself with the organization of international congresses for the fruit and vegetable trade. White will illuminate the consumer trends in the Middle East and Asia under the influence of economic development and soaring purchasing power. He speaks German and can thus convey his knowledge authentically.
The Fruchtwelt Bodensee will be open from February 21 to 23, 2014, Friday and Saturday 9 am to 6 pm, Sunday 9 am to 5 pm. A day ticket costs 11 Euro and includes admission to the "agrarwelt" exhibition.
