DHL and FedEx have blamed stricter customs rules in for the suspension of parcel deliveries to individuals in Russia.
Extra documents, including passports, are now needed for private Russian customers to receive parcels from abroad. This has resulted in express postal services, DHL and FedEx, suspending its deliveries of goods ordered on the internet to Russia.
The strict rules only apply to private customers, so business customers are not affected. Around 30 million parcels were ordered by Russian individuals in 2013.
According to Reuters news agency, UPS, TNT and DPD are expected to join DHL and FedEx is suspending their Russian deliveries.
