Odisha MSME International Trade Fair 2014 kick-started today at IDCO exhibition ground, here. The seven day long trade fair was formally inaugurated by the GovernorS C Jamir in the evening today while Joint Secretary of MSME Department, Government of India Mr. S N Tripathy was present as the Guest of Honour on the occasion along with Panchanan Dash, Secretary, MSME, Government of Odisha and P Udaya Kumar, Director, NSIC Ltd.
Among others present on the occasion were N Palai, Director of Industries, Govt. of Odisha, Shri B K Das, Director, EP & M, Govt. of Odisha, Shri Arbinda Agarwal, MD, OSIC Ltd. and Shri P C Nayak, Dy. Zonal General Manager, NSIC Ltd.
Jointly organized by MSME Dept., Govt. of Odisha and National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. (NSIC), the Odisha MSME International Trade fair 2014 comprises around 270 stalls. Rourkela Steel Plant, Mahanadi Coalfield Ltd., Nalco, Hindusthan Aeronautics Ltd., Paradip Port Trust, Tata Steel, IOCL, Essel Mining etc are also participating in this international trade fair.
Also more than forty renowned equipment manufacturing companies are participating in this trade fair. More than 16 nationalized and other private banks are also part of this trade fair. Instead of going outside to get the knowhow for setting up industries, new entrepreneurs of the state will get the opportunity to see the demonstration of the equipments which are used in the industries in this seven days long international trade fair.
There has been seven information centres in the fair, where entrepreneurs can gather information on various aspects like funding, setting up industries, marketing etc. This trade fair which is scheduled to conclude on 7th January 2014, will have around 14 seminars spread over the seven days on different topics and buyer-seller programmes. Eminent representatives from all over India will participate in this Odisha MSME International Trade fair and will interact with the state level entrepreneurs. They will provide various information and facilities for setting up industries.
In the evenings, various cultural programmes will be performed during all the days of the trade fair. The organizers of this trade fair, the MSME Dept. of Govt. of Odisha and NSIC are hopeful that this international trade fair will provide the necessary guidance and impetus to the young men and women in the state for setting up and development of industries.
Delegates from countries like Republic of Malawi, Burkima Faso, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Burundi have also been invited to participate in the trade fair 2014.
