The telematics providers Funkwerkeurotelematik GmbH and idem GmbH have merged to form idem telematics GmbH, as of the 2nd of April 2014. Both companies belong to the BPW Group and can now offer the first complete telematics solution for the commercial vehicle industry.
"With this unified approach it is the first time to combine two formerly completely separate worlds of truck and trailer telematics", said the two managing directors Thomas Piller and Pete Jendras.
Since beginning of 2014 Funkwerkeurotelematik GmbH belongs to the BPW Group. This means BPW broadens their range of powerful and scalable electronics solutions for the commercial vehicle industry, which they offer together with their Munich subsidiary idem GmbH, by adding the truck solutions to the portfolio.
The two companies Funkwerkeurotelematik GmbH and idem GmbH have been working together closely for some time in solving tasks in trucks and trailer telematics. By combining the truck data with the trailer information, a telematics system which covers the entire combination can now be provided for the first time by the BPW Group. Truck and trailer data captured electronically provides a clear and practical display of the data in one application.
Another result of the merger is the expansion of accessible industries. In addition to specialising in the classical transport sector, the new idem telematics GmbH will also develop and provide solutions for service management, local solutions with winter and container services as well as telematics systems for airports, construction and special fleets.
The headquarters of idem telematics GmbH is located in Munich, the site in Ulm remains as a branch.
