Flooded with complaints about punctuality of vital Delhi-Patna Sampoorna Kranti Express, the Railway has decided to boost its speed from July one to ensure the train runs on time.
An East Central Railway (ECR) statement said, "It has been decided to run Sampoorna Kranti Express with MPS (Maximum Permissible Speed) of 130 Kmph from July 1 this year."
The statement from Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Arvind Kumar Rajak said, at present it is running at a speed of 110 Kmph. As this daily train has no commercial stoppages between Patna and New Delhi and only one operational stoppage at Mughalsarai and Kanpur, it should not be difficult to maintain its punctuality after increasing the speed.
The initiative was taken by General Manager ECR Madhuresh Kumar who coordinated with GM of North Central Railway Allahabad and Member Traffic of Railway Board, said Rajak.
The solution came in the wake of litany of complaints regarding punctuality of the train which had gone very low leading to frequent rescheduling/cancellations putting a question mark on its reputation, Rajak said.
