Russian Railways Logistics, a subsidiary of RZD Holding, will participate in the 10th China International Coal Equipment & Mining Technical Equipment Exhibition CICEME 2014, which will be held in Beijing on June 12-14, 2014. This year the exhibition will bring together more than 800 exhibitors from 25 countries and will attract over 80,000 visitors, 30% of which are from overseas.
In the framework of this exhibition RZD Logistics management plans holding a series of talks with its customers and partners and discussing the potential of combined coal delivery services from Europe to Southeast Asia. Moreover, the company will introduce its new service on transportation of coal through the port of Rajin, North Korea, to China and the countries of Asia-Pacific, which was launched earlier in March 2014.
This complex service includes wagon providing, coal transportation, cargo handling in the port of Rajin and shipping based on CIF to the ports of China-Shanghai, Lyanyungan, Guangzhou. The above-mentioned solution is provided in cooperation with RasonKonTrans, which is a joint venture of Russian Railways Holding (RZD) and the Ministry of Railways of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. This service is developed for the need of coal and mining market participants and will provide importers of the Asia-Pacific region with coal, coke, iron ore at prices comparable to the prices of delivery through the Far East ports of Russia.
Ice-free seaport of Rajin in the northern part of North Korea is linked to the Russian Tyumangan station with the single-track railway of 56 km and has a deep-water approach for reception of ships with a deadweight up to 40 thousand tons. Port capacity allows handling up to 4 mn tons of cargo annually. According to analysts the volume of coal to be transported to the Asia-Pacific will increase by 2.5 times to 2030.
CICEME 2014 is an international coal and mining exhibition, as well as the largest tradeshow in China. It is a platform for demonstrating investment projects and the latest developments in the coal industry, the most advanced technolo-gy&equipment.
