Finnish logistics provider Nurminen Logistics has entered into a contract to sell its 4PL business to the business' operative management.
Both the parties under the deal have agreed not to disclose the sale price. Three employees will transfer in connection with the transaction.
Nurminen Logistics president and CEO Olli Pohjanvirta said that Neutral Logistics Management, 4PL, has been part of Nurminen Logistics' Forwarding and Value Added Services business unit that will now focus on the provision of high-quality forwarding and cargo handling services to their customers.
"The 4PL business offers no synergy benefits for Nurminen Logistics' core business operations and for this reason, we made the decision to give up this business," Pohjanvirta added.
"In the future, we will concentrate on growing our strategic business operations and improving their profitability."
According to Pohjanvirta, the goal of the company is to strengthen their position in domestic railway transport in Russia and nearby countries, in rail transport between Finland and Russia as well as in special transport and project services.
