Beijing's freight forwarders recorded revenues of CNY126.1 billion (US$20 billion) in 2011 drew from 946 registered forwarder companies, reports Xinhua. Privately-owned forwarders make up 70 per cent of the total while the state-owned enterprises and holding companies account for 15 per cent with another 15 per cent being accounted for by foreign-owned and joint-ventures. Forwarding in Beijing has seen a 30 per cent growth in revenue, in import and export cargo volume over the last two years, says International Freight Forwarder Association (IFFA) secretary general Li Rong. |
