Freight rate moves up on busy cargo movements

NEW DELHI: Freight rates rose upto Rs 1,500 per ten metric tonne in the local truck transport market on Saturday following busy cargo movements amid tight availability of lorries.

Delhi to Bangalore and Thiruvananthapuram rates went up by Rs 1,000 each at Rs 35,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.

Rates to Mysore rose by Rs 1,500 at Rs 36,500 while coimbatore freights depicted higher by Rs 1,000 at Rs 40,000.

Indore and Ludhiana freights also moved up by Rs 500 each at Rs 12,500 and Rs 9,500 respectively.

Following were today's freight rates for the ten metric ton load (in Rs): Ahmedabad 12,000 Hyderabad 24,000 Mumbai 18,000 Vijayawada 26,000 Baroda 14,000 Bangalore 35,000 Pune 19,000 Mysore 36,500 Surat 16,000 Pondicherry 38,000 Kanpur 9,500 Coimbatore 40,000 Kolkata 24,000 Chennai 36,000 Ludhiana 9,500 Kochi 44,000 Chandigarh 7,000 Thiruvananthapuram 50,000 Jaipur 6,000 Goa 26,000 Indore 12,500 Gwalior 7,000 Patna 21,000 Guwahati 41,000.
