Malaysian freight forwarders want more security

2008-8-20

The Airfreight Forwarders Association of Malaysia (AFAM) wants the supply chain security partnership that was established between the Royal Malaysian Customs and the private sector to be extended to freight forwarders, Business Times reported.

The facility is currently restricted to manufacturers and traders.

AFAM has also urged the Customs mobile unit to conduct its random checks at the premises of the importer and not at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport Free Commercial Zone in Sepang, which has caused bottlenecks at entry and exit points.
