Leeds Bradford appoint new chairman

2008-7-4

Leeds Bradford Airport has appointed a new chairman after Yorkshire business chief Sir Graham Hall stepped down as chairman amid reports that he did not see eye-to-eye with its new owners, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports. Sir Graham has been replaced by Alan Lewis, who steps up from his previous role as deputy chairman.

Sir Graham became chairman of the airport last year as part of European private equity firm Bridgepoint's £145m deal to buy it from the five West Yorkshire local authorities which previously owned it. Mr Lewis is an advisory partner of Bridgepoint and a former board member of Birmingham Airport.
