A man who is alleged to have endangered a holiday flight to Turkey, which diverted back to Glasgow Airport after take-off over the weekend, appeared in court yesterday.
The Excel Air flight was taking 188 tourists to Dalaman in south-west Turkey when James McLaughlan, 28, of Bannockburn, Stirlingshire, who is alleged to have been drunk on the flight on Saturday, punched seats and head-butted windows. The case, at Paisley Sheriff Court, was continued and McLaughlan was granted bail.
All 187 other passengers were put up in an airport hotel overnight and flew out on Sunday night, missing one day of their holiday. |
