A man was arrested at Bournemouth Airport last night after smoking a cigarette on board a flight to the UK. Police officers were called to the airport just after 23:00 when the 22-year-old became disorderly on a Ryanair flight from Wroclaw in Poland.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said the man had been caught smoking on board the Boeing 737-800 and that alcohol was also involved.
Airport security decided to call the police after reports some passengers had been fighting and smoking. Two or three people were said to have been creating problems with one causing extensive damage to the aircraft, which was carrying 130 passengers.
Three police officers along with airport security boarded the flight and arrested the man for smoking in the toilet of the aircraft. |
