CHANGZHOU, in eastern Jiangsu province, has started building a large cold storage warehouse with a storage space of 50,000 cubic metres.
The report of Logistics Week said the facility will be one of the largest and state-of-the-art single warehouses in China with automated refrigerating system. It will be mainly be used for cold storage of food and can store up to 20,000 tonnes.
The facility has six storeys. Each storey is 5.1 metres high. The first and the sixth floor are the refrigerating storage area with a capacity of more than 7,000 tonnes. The second to the fifth floor are the freezing storage area, which can store up to 13,000 tonnes.
