IN the first such ceremony in Malaysia, Germany's Hapag-Lloyd container line at Port Kelang named the 8,749-TEU vessel Kuala Lumpur Express that will also serve as a training ship with two instructors and 15 cadets in addition to its 24-strong crew.
"Container shipping offers young persons a very interesting working environment with excellent career prospects and a secure future," said Adolf Adrion, Hapag-Lloyd executive board member.
The 336-metre postpanamax ship was built by South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries and will serve on the Asia-Europe EU4 service offered by the Grand Alliance.
