2008-5-25

New Zealand beef products attracted attention at Korea's largest food and beverage exhibition this month.

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Seoul, together with Zespri Korea and Meat & Wool NZ created a New Zealand pavilion at Seoul Food and Hotel.

More than 40,000 food industry people visited the fair which ran from 14-17 May.

NZTE displayed and fielded inquiries on a range of New Zealand food and beverage products while Zespri and Meat & Wool NZ organised a number of tasting events.

Richard Kidd Marketing, promoting beef, and Vynfields Martinborough with organic wine also participated in the fair from New Zealand.

In addition, a number of Korean importers showcased New Zealand products including Universal Beef Packers beef and beef jerky, Comvita honey products and meat products from PPCS, Ocean beef and Affco.

Due to recent food safety issues around US beef, New Zealand products attracted huge interest from Korean visitors.

NZTE chairman Jon Mayson, Meat & Wool NZ chairman Mike Petersen and Zespri category manager Rosstan Mazey visited the New Zealand pavilion and were impressed by the strong NZ presence at the show.
