PORT of Shenzhen's cumulative container throughput in the first four months increased 8.5 per cent year on year to 6.67 million TEU. Its overall cargo tonnage increased 14.3 per cent to 69 million tonnes, Xinhua reported.
In this period, Chiwan port area's container volume rose 9.2 per cent to 2 million TEU. Shekou port area's box throughput surged 39.7 per cent to 1.9 million TEU while Yantian's dropped 7 per cent to 2.7 million TEU.
