The company has designed a high-quality tracking unit that combines GPS satellite tracking and GPRS mobile telecommunication technologies in a small, robust and discrete package. The unit accurately records a vehicle's position, direction of travel and speed. Quartix customers are able to monitor the status of every vehicle in their fleet simply by logging on to the internet. The Quartix system shows every vehicle as an moving icon on a web page map, giving transport managers a bird's eye view of fleet movements 24 hours a day 365 days a year. The screen map can be zoomed from country scale to street level at the click of a mouse. The visual representation of moving vehicles is supported by detailed, on-screen, vehicle activity logs and sophisticated performance reports available directly from the web which can also be e-mailed directly to any manager.
The improvements to management control that result include significantly lower vehicle operating costs, more responsive delivery times, increased business capacity, lower vehicle emissions and enhanced vehicle security. The system also enables employers to better manage a range of administrative duties including Duty of Care responsibilities and benefit in kind taxation details.

As a result of the success of its easy-to-use system, the company reached No. 38 in the 2007 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the UK, the latest in a string of prestigious awards the company has won since its formation in 2001.
