Nippon Express announced that it has opened two core distribution facilities for autoparts in Guangzhou in response to growing production by Japanese autoparts manufacturers in the area.
The two new distribution centers will gather parts produced in China and supply them to the local plants of Japanese automakers. Because the Guangzhou is home to a growing number of autoparts manufacturers and is becoming an export base for overseas auto firms, the new distribution facilities will also be used for international shipping, particularly exports to Southeast Asia.
Both new centers can accommodate regular trucks and trucks hauling maritime shipping containers and are thus able to handle both overland and sea cargos.
The company began autoparts shipping in China in August 2004. It expects shipping volumes to continue growing as Japanese manufacturers increase production there.
