2007-12-5

THE Trucking Services Alliance, consisting of 56 medium-small size companies in Shanghai, started operations recently, Xinhua reported.

The alliance has successfully integrated the trucking services of its 56 members after one year of preparation and trial, the report said.

The integrated trucking service network, which connects almost all parts of the country with Shanghai, can rapidly distribute car-load shipments and LCL goods to their destinations, the report said.

During the trials of the network, operations costs to alliance members fell 10 per cent while cargo volume increased 10 per cent, the report said.
