Introduction:
Delivering manufacturing more effectively already requires dramatic improvements in logistics. Further growth in this world-beating market demands world-class logistics. How to enable them is the theme of the 2011 Automotive Logistics China conference.
Uniting domestic, foreign and jv carmakers, and the major tier suppliers, with LSPs both domestic and global, the conference will address the key challenges facing logistics, including:
• delivering big production increases for an already mammoth market
• overcoming infrastructure restrictions
• operational challenges like multi-modal logistics, integrated services and the right way to handle vehicle imports
• and, of course, recurring struggles with transport regulations and rail network limitations
Last year¡¯s conference in Beijing saw in-depth debate on the 'right way' of managing logistics. It asked whether a global LSP could actually provide higher standards than a domestic Chinese company? Though local inexperience and under-investment leads to issues up and down the supply chain, China¡¯s OEMs challenged global 3PLs to deliver China-tailored solutions.
In 2011, there is no question that China's automotive logistics sector has huge opportunities. The conference will discuss how efficiency will come not from lower costs, but from deliverables like better equipment, the consolidation of fragmented and under-capitalised domestic LSPs, better IT systems, improved infrastructure, modernised management, and more.
Now in its 8th year, the conference will again feature a conference stream dedicated to exports, organised in conjunction with the CFLP (Chinese Federation of Logistics and Purchasing).
We are pleased to announce that some of the most influential government representatives in China will be speaking as this year's event including the Chief from the National Development and Reform Commission and the Director General from the Ministry of Commerce of the P.R.China Department of Mechanic, Electronic and Hi-Tech Industry.
