Wall Street opened mixed Monday morning as investors searched for direction without key economic data.
As of 10:00 a.m., the Dow Jones industrial average rose 5.85 to 12,586.68. The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 1.58 to 1,436.48 and the Nasdaq composite index lost 7.45 to 2,452.37.
Wall Street fell last week on concerns about higher oil prices and the possibility inflation could lead to higher interest rates.
