Indian software group expanding Asia-Pacific HQ
POSTED: 2:31 p.m. EDT, January 9,2007

Indian banking software group i-flex Solutions is doubling the size of its Asia-Pacific headquarters here in a drive to tap the robust growth in the region, the firm said Monday.

The company plans to create 400 more jobs in the city-state over the next two-three years.

Financial institutions in the Asia-Pacific region are hungry for new generation technology,' The Straits Times quoted Kishore Kapoor, head of the Singapore office, as saying.

'They are doing well financially, so they can afford new investments in IT,' Kapoor noted.

While Hong Kong was an option, Singapore was selected for the regional headquarters' expansion because of its infrastructure and closer proximity to the Indian headquarters.

The operations of i-flex in the city-state started in 2001. They include a regional software development centre where products are customised for customers.
