Sudan said Monday the multifarious cooperation between the governments of Ethiopia and Sudan has been growing.
After talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, Lieutenant General Abdelrahim Homamed Hussein, who is here on a working visit, told journalists that cooperation between the governments and peoples of the two countries in, among others, economic, political and social sectors was boosting.
Ethiopia is a strategic partner to Sudan, he said, adding that the two countries have been working closely for mutual benefits.
He said discussions with the Ethiopian prime minister focused on the Ethio-Sudan bilateral cooperation as part of the ongoing consultations.
Asked about the situation in Sudan's Darfur region, the Sudanese general said conditions are improving and the Abuja agreement, signed in May last year, was being implemented.
Ethiopia and Sudan have a 1,700-km long common border and relations between the two countries are generally good.
