Visitors arriving by air to Nepal during March 2007 witnessed another encouraging upsurge with 33.5 percent growth registered during the month compared to the last March, a press release from Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) said Saturday.
A total of 34,122 international visitors entered Nepal last month which comprised of 20 percent Indians and 80 percent non- Indians, according to the figures provided by Immigration Office, Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
Visitors from Bangladesh jumped up by 74.8 percent, while those from China, up 121.8 percent, Malaysia, 136.4 percent and South Korea, 98 percent.
According to the NTB, a semi-official organization, the growth in arrivals is due to the improved air route in the region and the growing confidence among international traders and consumers in peace and stability in Nepal.
