Turkish Airlines will continue to leverage the benefits from Lufthansa Systems’ SchedConnect schedule management solution. With SchedConnect Turkish Airlines can optimize their codeshare agreements, which leads to significant cost savings and noticeable higher revenues. Further, SchedConnect streamlines schedule management processes on a high automation level and acts as central flight repository and major schedule delivery system. Both companies recently signed a contract for another five years.
SchedConnect offers a high degree of automation, calculating the optimum codeshare assignments based on the current flight schedules every day. Each month, the system processes up to 35 million schedule changes made by SchedConnect customers worldwide. If a minimum connecting time is violated due to a schedule change or if a partner flight is canceled, the system automatically assigns the marketing flight number to another suitable connecting flight. Changes are sent through the reservation systems to travel agents and customers as well as to the operations and passenger-related systems of the airlines involved.
Established in 1933, Turkish Airlines is based in Istanbul. The carrier serves 43 Turkish and 204 international destinations with its fleet of 246 aircraft. Turkish Airlines has been a member of the Star Alliance since 2008.
