Another successful year for Aerostar

Aerostar S.A. the leading Romanian aerospace company, has recorded another successful financial year, with turnover up eight percent, exports dramatically increased from 71 percent to 86 percent of turnover, and profits stable. Investment in plant and machinery also increased and employment rose by over 300 people to reach a total of nearly 1900.
Building on its strategy of steady diversification and growth into the commercial aviation sector, Aerostar saw its business activities on commercial aviation grow from 64 percent of turnover in 2012 to over 72 percent last year.
Grigore Filip, President and Director General of Aerostar said today: “We have continued steadily on our strategic path of growing into commercial aircraft activities to the point where it now accounts for over 70 percent of our turnover. Of this total, over 17 percent is accounted for by our commercial aviation MRO activities and we intend to continue growing this business sector.”
He added: “We continue to invest wisely in new machinery and facilities to improve our capabilities and service to customers, and in 2013 we spent nearly 19 million Lei on these activities. I am also delighted that we were able to grow our employment by over 300 people and this makes us better prepared for future programmes.”
Aerostar’s commercial aviation MRO offering to the market is based upon quality work, on-time delivery and cost-effective pricing. Existing customers are coming back for repeat business and the company is steadily building up a portfolio of new customers from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
