Qatar Airways Cargo is to launch its first scheduled freighter service in a twice-weekly between Doha and Mexico City's Licenciado Benito Juarez International Airport from June 11, according to Shipping Gazette.
The service will deploy a Boeing 777 freighter in the first regular service to Mexico by the state-owned carrier which will kickstart its operations in Latin America, said its chief officer for cargo Ulrich Ogiermann.
Freighters will depart from Doha's Hamad International Airport on Wednesdays and Sundays, and from Mexico on Mondays and Thursdays.
Qatar Americas cargo vice president Ian Morgan said the new freighter service will export cars and auto parts, consumer electronics, oil and oil products, silver, perishables and pharmaceuticals.
At the beginning of the year the Middle East cargo carrier launched two new premium services, Q Pharma and Q Fresh, for its cool chain transport services of time and temperature-sensitive goods, including high-value pharmaceuticals and perishables.
