Cold storage facility at airport near Mangalore, India opens

A cold storage facility for perishables, such as fruit, vegetables and seafood for import and export, has been set up at the air cargo complex operated by the Airport Authority of India (AAI) in Bajpe near Mangalore.
The facility, built with financial assistance from the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), has the capacity to house five tonnes of perishables.
The Times of India reported that the main aim of AAI in developing this facility is to promote the import and export of agricultural products, according to Shipping Gazette.
