Dallas-based Southwest Airlines has once again become the only US-based airline to earn the Diamond Award in the "up to 299,999 tonnes" category in Air Cargo World's tenth annual Air Cargo Excellence survey, according to Shipping Gazette.
The airline's cargo arm earned high marks for customer service, performance, value, and use of information technology.
"Winning the Diamond Award for the second year in a row is a testament to the hard work of our people and all they do on a daily basis across the Southwest Airlines network," said Southwest Cargo & Charters vice president Matt Buckley.
Air Cargo World publisher Steve Prince said the consistent level of excellence above the norm marks Southwest Cargo out from competitors.
"This is proven annually by the ratings their forwarder customers bestow upon them for all measurements in our Air Cargo Excellence Survey," he added, at the ceremony held at IATA's World Cargo Symposium in LA.
