Seattle-based airplane manufacturer Boeing is to support Hainan Airlines five-year pilot training agreement following its acquisition of its 787 Dreamliner to its fleet.
Boeing Flight Services, a subsidiary of Boeing Commercial Aviation Services is to build on an existing contract for flight training at Boeing's Singapore and Shanghai training campuses for its aircraft models: Next-Generation 737, 767 and 787.
According to Hainan Airlines' 787 fleet manager Xing Tao, the extension of its existing training solutions is down to a "great and enduring relationship" against a backdrop of changing business and technology models.
"The training quality were the deciding factors in continuing our partnership, as is Boeing's unique knowledge and its ability to provide full training solutions," he added in a statement, supported by the proximity of the training campuses to the airline's HQ.
The fourth largest airline in China will benefit from this training in order to meet personnel demand forecast to grow in the Asia Pacific region to number 192,300 new commercial airline pilots and 215,300 new technicians up to 2032, according to the 2013 Boeing Pilot & Technician Outlook.
