Chopin Airport handled over 623,000 passengers in February 2014, a 5.8% drop year-on-year.
The airport handled nearly 6% less passengers than in the corresponding period last year, but 6.6% more than in February 2012. The record result in 2013 was largely attributable to the unplanned decision of Ryanair and Wizz Air to transfer their operations to Chopin Airport due to runway closure in Modlin.
Chopin Airport has welcomed a total of 1.26 million passengers since the beginning of the year, including 1.09 million travelling on international flights (down 6.8%) and 168,000 domestically (up 4.9%). The overall number of aircraft movements fell by 10.6% in February, standing at 8,000.
