Emirates SkyCargo clinches two industry awards from India

Emirates SkyCargo has been named the International Cargo Airline of the Year by STAT Trade media group at the Air Cargo India 2014 awards in Mumbai.
The Middle Eastern cargo carrier was also voted the Top Cargo Handling Airline of Cochin 2013 by the Customs Department at the International Customs Day Celebration held in Kochi, reports Arab News from Jeddah.
Emirates divisional senior vice president, cargo, Nabil Sultan, along with SVP cargo revenue optimization and systems, Pradeep Kumar, received the International Cargo Airline of the Year award from the International Air Transport Association cargo chief Des Vertannes.
"Both the awards are a testimony of the unflagging efforts by the team to make Emirates SkyCargo a successful cargo airline in the India market," said Mr Sultan. "These accolades are considered to be a benchmark for reviewing performances in the cargo Industry."
The airline carries 1,400 tonnes of cargo from Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode every week. It also operates two weekly freighters with 200 tonne payloads on the Dubai-Mumbai-Dubai route as well as the Dubai-Chennai-Hong Kong-Dubai route.
