Transaero Airlines carried over 470,000 passengers during the New Year Holiday Season

Transaero Airlines has announced its operational results for the New Year holiday period. The airline made more than 3,300 flights on 150 routes during the festive period, and carried more than 470,000 passengers, a 20% increase over the same New Year period in 2013. This is the best result in the airline’s entire history.
Transaero’s ticket sales for New Year travel on its official web-site have increased by 40% over the previous New Year’s holidays.
This festive season has set a new record as Transaero carried out flights from as many as 24 Russian cities, including Moscow and St Petersburg, while the previous New Year flight programme was performed from 19 cities. This growth was due to the increase in volume of the airline’s direct non-stop flights from Russian regions to international destinations.
During this holiday season Transaero doubled the number of flights to more than 60 destinations from Moscow Vnukovo airport.
Transaero Airlines offered its clients flights to popular sea and mountain resorts, as well as to a variety of cities in Russia and around world.
This New Year’s flight programme featured the launch of scheduled flights from Moscow to Istanbul, Havana and Colombo. Transaero was also able to offer its customers scheduled flights to Antalya, Dubai and Jamaica.
For the first time Transaero Airlines operated mid-haul Вoeing 737-800 aircraft with Imperial class cabin within the holiday flight programme.
In the run-up to New Year’s holidays Transaero opened special check-in desks for passengers travelling with children at all three Moscow airports – Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo.
The members of Transaero Privilege frequent flyer programme enjoyed extra points and discounts on joint offers by the airline and its partners in Russia and abroad.
