At a celebration in Budapest, with over 1,000 guests in attendance, Munich Airport was announced as the winner of this year's European Routes Award. This prestigious award is presented every year to recognize outstanding marketing performance by international airports. In the category of Europe's largest airports with more than 20 million passengers handled annually, Munich Airport came in ahead of Rome and Vienna to take the number one ranking. Munich was also declared the overall winner of the European Routes Award.
For Dr. Michael Kerkloh, the President and CEO of FMG, the award is an affirmation of Munich Airport's efforts to continually improve the available travel options in terms of quality and quantity.
