Chopin Airport handled 585,200 passengers in November 2012, an 8.8% drop year-on-year.
The airport also recorded a fall in aircraft movements, with 3.6% less landings and take-offs than a year before (10,100).
The most passengers flew with LOT Polish Airlines (400,700), followed by Lufthansa (46,800), Enter Air (31,900), Air France (30,500) and KLM (20,800). Ryanair and Wizz Air carried over 4,600 and 3,900 travellers respectively; both airlines normally operate out of Modlin, but their planes were redirected to Chopin Airport due to poor weather conditions.
Chopin Airport handled 8.98 million passengers since the beginning of 2012, 3.1% more than in the January-November period last year (also, more than in the corresponding period in 2008, the airport's record year). Domestic flights grew by 45.3%, with a total of 1.43 million passengers handled, while international traffic numbers fell by 2.3% (7.55 million).
